Twenty years ago, China was in the midst of a nationwide effort to achieve prosperity and improve the quality of life for its citizens. As an old saying goes,’only those whose barn is full can learn about manners. ‘Since the traditional society, China has always paid attention to the common development of spirit and civilization.
At that time, the whole country was committed to creating wealth and improving living standards, laying the foundation for the realization of spiritual pursuit.It was during this period that my mother made a significant sacrifice for our family's well-being.
My mother had been pursuing a degree in accounting, a field that promised stability and financial security. However, faced with the need to support our family, she made the difficult decision to change career paths and become a pharmacist. This transition required her to start anew in a completely different industry, but she did so without hesitation.
Becoming a pharmacist was not an easy journey for my mother. She had to overcome numerous challenges and obstacles along the way. Despite the difficulties, she persevered and worked tirelessly to provide for our family. When I grew up, I began to understand that her tenacity and determination at that time may also come from the expectation of pursuing her dream again after enough material accumulation.
Through her actions, my mother embodied the determination and dream spirit prevailing in China at that time. She temporarily put the material pursuit of family above her personal ambitions, build a well-off society with the motherland, and lay the foundation for spiritual pursuit.
