The Courage to Begin
One of the biggest challenges in university is not the work itself, but simply starting it. We often delay difficult tasks, waiting for the perfect moment or more motivation. Yet the most important step is often the first one.
Begin before you feel ready. Write the first sentence of your essay, even if it's imperfect. Open your textbook to the first page. Join a study group, even if you feel unsure. Action creates momentum, and momentum builds confidence. You don't need to see the whole path—you just need to take the first step.
This applies to new experiences too. That club you're curious about, that language you want to learn, that person you'd like to meet—they all begin with a single decision to try.
Remember, every expert was once a beginner who decided to start. Your journey is no different. Don't let fear of imperfection hold you back. Start small, start now, and trust that the rest will follow.
