Application for Joining the University English Drama Club
Dear Club Advisors and Members,
I am Li Hua, a freshman majoring in Public Administration from the School of Humanities. I am writing to apply for membership in the University English Drama Club, as I have long been passionate about English performance and eager to join a community that shares this interest.
Since middle school, I have been fascinated by English dramas. I participated in my high school’s English drama competition, playing a supporting role in Hamlet, which not only improved my oral English and pronunciation but also taught me the importance of teamwork and emotional expression. As an aspiring law student (I plan to transfer to the Law major next year), I believe that drama can enhance my logical thinking and communication skills, which are essential for legal studies and future practice. Additionally, I am familiar with script adaptation and have basic experience in stage arrangement, which I hope to contribute to the club’s activities.
I am particularly drawn to the club’s regular drama workshops, script-reading sessions, and annual stage performances. These activities will provide me with valuable opportunities to practice English in a creative and interactive way, broaden my cultural horizons, and make like-minded friends. I am a responsible and cooperative person, and I am willing to devote my spare time to club tasks, whether it is rehearsing plays, organizing events, or promoting the club on campus.
