1 比较级的几种常见句型：
- the + 比较级…，the + 比较级…，表示“越……就越……”。如：
The more modest you are, the more knowledge you’ll learn.
你越是谦虚，学到的知识也就越多。
- all the + 比较级，表示“因而更加……”。如：
As a result of natural disasters, the area became all the poorer.
由于自然灾害，这个地区因而变得更加贫穷了。
- the + 比较级 + of the two，表示“两者中比较……的那一个”。如：
The braver of the two girls first stepped onto the stage.
两个女孩中比较勇敢的那个首先走上舞台。
- more…than…，表示“与其……不如……”。如：
She is more shy than difficult to get along with.
她不是很难相处，但是太害羞。
- more than，表示“不仅仅，不只是”。如：
He is more than a scientist. He is also a thinker.
他不仅仅是一位科学家，而且也是一位思想家。
- not more than，表示“不超过”。如：
Not more than six films were nominated.

- no more than，表示“仅仅，只是”。如：
Don’t scold him. After all, he is no more than a child of five.

- no more…than…，表示“和……一样不……”。如：
He is no more diligent than you.

- not + 比较级 + than，表示“不如……”。如：
She is not more tactful than you.

- 比较级 + than + any other + n.，表示“比任何……都（用比较级表达最高级）”。如：
He is cleverer than any other boy.

- couldn’t (have)… + 比较级，表示“不可能更……（用比较级表示最高级）”。如：

—It couldn’t have been worse.

- as…as, if not + 比较级 + than，表示“即使不比……，至少也是一样……”。如：
Tom runs as fast as, if not faster than Peter.

2 倍数的表示方法：
- 倍数 + as + 形容词（或副词）的原级 + as + 其他。如：
The meeting room is five times as big as our office.
这个会议室的面积是我们办公室的5倍。
这种结构又常演变成下列两类：
①倍数 + as + many + 可数名词复数 + as；
②倍数 + as + much + 不可数名词 + as。如：
There are six times as many students as I expected.
学生人数是我预料的人数的6倍。
The plant produced four times as much mercury this year as the year before.
工厂今年生产的水银是去年的4倍多。
- 倍数 + 形容词（或副词）的比较级 + than + 其他。如：
The meeting room is five times bigger than our office.
这个会议室的面积比我们办公室的大5倍。
- 倍数 + the size/height/length/width etc. + of + 其他。如：
The meeting room is five times the size of our office.
这个会议室的面积是我们办公室的5倍。
- 计量名词 +of +名词 +be +倍数 +that +of +其他。如：
The size of the newly built meeting room is five times that of the previous one.
新建的会议室是之前的5倍大。
- 倍数 +what 从句。如：
The turnover is now five times what it was ten years ago.
现在的营业额是10年前的5倍。
- 倍数 +more +名词 +than +其他。如：
There are five times more pens in his schoolbag than in yours.
他书包里的笔比你书包里的多5倍。
- by +倍数。如：
The turnover has been increased by five times this year.
今年的营业额增长了5倍。
